FINCH HATTON, MACKAY REGION — Rocky Trail racers are getting ready for an adrenaline-fueled start to the winter school holidays! The Fox Superflow® gravity enduro event is officially returning to the world-class Finch Hatton Mountain Bike Trails this weekend, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2026.
Bringing together a vibrant community of mountain biking enthusiasts, the event is set to transform the Pioneer Valley into the ultimate hub of riding, racing, and family-friendly school holiday entertainment.
The Ultimate Racing Format: For Mates, Families, and Elites
Unlike traditional, high-pressure races, the Fox Superflow® format is famous for its relaxed, “race the way you ride” atmosphere. There are no strict start orders or stressful schedules, making it the perfect environment for groups of mates to ride together, weekend warriors to test their skills, and entire families to line up and race alongside each other.
- 2-Day Action: A full weekend of premium, action-packed gravity enduro racing.
- 3 Epic Stages: Riders will tackle three distinct, challenging race tracks.
- 8 Runs Per Track: Competitors can complete up to 8 runs on each track across the weekend, with only their single fastest time per stage counting toward the final tally.
‘Unstitched and Restitched’ Tracks: Fresh Course Maps Unveiled
Thanks to the epic recent track upgrades across the network, the event crew has completely “unstitched and restitched” the race tracks to deliver the ultimate weekend of racing. Competitors will be treated to brand-new course maps and fresh track descriptions that showcase the very best of Finch Hatton’s premium rainforest terrain, offering an exciting new challenge for returning riders.
Beyond the Trails: Pumptracks & Movie Night
The excitement doesn’t stop when the main trails quiet down. Saturday afternoon and evening are locked in as a massive community celebration at the trailhead:
- Saturday Afternoon: High-octane action moves to the flat for the thrilling Pumptrack Racing.
- Saturday Night: With thanks to the local Pioneer Futures Community Organisation, our riders can wrap up the day under the stars with a family-friendly Movie Night right at the trails. Our visiting families and locals will be kicking back and socialising.
A Major Tourism Boost for the Mackay Region
Rocky Trail says that 250 racers are expected to descend on the Pioneer Valley this weekend. Alongside strong local representation, a massive series racing contingent is travelling to the region from South East Queensland, Cairns, and Townsville, as well as interstate visitors making the trek from New South Wales, delivering a fantastic economic boost to local businesses.

Celebrating Two Years of Premium Trails
This major event comes on the heels of the Finch Hatton MTB network celebrating its second birthday. Since officially opening in April 2024, the premium, World Trail-designed and -built network has quickly put the Mackay region on the global mountain biking map, offering an exceptional mix of flowing descents, lush subtropical rainforest scenery, and state-of-the-art trailhead facilities.
