FINCH HATTON, QLD – July 7, 2025 – For the second time, the Fox Superflow® event wrapped up on Sunday, June 29th, at the awesome Finch Hatton Trails! We had a fantastic turnout with 284 riders and more than 300 extra visitors, spectators, and our crew, bringing the total attendance to over 600 people. Our two-day gravity enduro event saw 281 riders hit the three Fox Superflow® stages. Plus, 38 of them also joined the pump track race, which had 41 riders overall on Saturday afternoon.
Even with some wet weather, the world-class trails at Finch Hatton handled it perfectly, giving everyone a super fun race. The vibe was fantastic and social, with lots of families turning it into a school holiday trip. Many camped right there and loved the great facilities. The local pub was buzzing at night, and kids were shredding the pump track every evening, including a floodlit race on Saturday night!
The event saw strong attendance from across Queensland, including South East Queensland, Rockhampton, Townsville, and Far North QLD, as well as interstate visitation from New South Wales, underscoring Finch Hatton’s growing reputation as a premier mountain biking destination. A significant 25% of competitors hailed from Mackay, with an additional 22 from Finch Hatton and surrounding areas, bringing the total local and Mackay participation to an impressive 30%. This big local turnout proves what an amazing cycling community is growing here, and how successful the Finch Hatton Trails are.
It is estimated that the event contributed $450,000 into the Mackay Visitor economy from overnight stays in the region. Over 1,300 visitor nights generated a value of $340,000 (Source: Rocky Trail/TRA).
In the Elite Men’s race, Gold Coast’s Kai Pyyvaara kept up his winning streak, taking another Elite win and extending his lead in the QLD Fox Superflow® series with a blazing 8:45.4! Brisbane’s Cameron Allonby (8:47.1) was right behind him, moving into fourth overall in the series. And big props to NSW rider David Ludenia (8:53.7) from the Blue Mountains for snagging third in Elite Men at Finch Hatton.

For the women, Elite racer Jess Hoskin was the fastest overall female of the weekend with a killer time of 9:50.8. Hot on her heels was fellow Sunshine Coast rider Kirrily Gates, an U15 junior, who not only finished second overall but also dominated her U15 category with a 10:07.3! Elite racer Mika Smith from Trinity Beach took third overall, and Elite racer Rachael White from Cairns rounded out the Elite podium in third (and fourth overall). Local talent Claire Weiss won the U13 category.

The Fox Superflow® format – racing against the clock on timed stages with chill transitions – once again showed why it’s so popular, giving riders that perfect mix of tough competition and a super social vibe.
This successful event, with awesome support from Mackay Regional Council, really cements Finch Hatton as a must-visit mountain biking spot.
